SERP360 Wordpress Plugin

SERP360 Link Sync connects WordPress to the SERP360 platform. Once connected, the plugin automatically adds internal links to content based on recommendations from SERP360's AI. No manual editing required.

Internal linking improves SEO by helping search engines understand site structure. It also keeps visitors engaged longer by guiding them to related content. The plugin handles the technical work, so teams can focus on strategy.

Before getting started

The plugin requires:

•       WordPress 6.0 or later

•       PHP 8.0 or later

•       An active SERP360 account with API access

•       Administrator access to the WordPress site

The plugin works with Gutenberg (the default WordPress editor), Elementor, and Bricks Builder. Classic Editor sites using standard post content are also supported.

Installing the plugin

Step 1: Download the plugin

Download the latest version of serp360-link-sync.zip from the SERP360 dashboard. Save it somewhere easy to find.

Step 2: Upload to WordPress

1.    Log in to the WordPress admin dashboard.

2.    Navigate to Plugins → Add New.

3.    Click the Upload Plugin button at the top of the page.

4.    Click Choose File and select the downloaded ZIP file.

5.    Click Install Now.

6.    Once installation completes, click Activate Plugin.

Connecting to SERP360

After activation, the plugin needs to connect to SERP360. This takes about two minutes.

Get the API key

7.    Log in to app.serp360.ai.

8.    Go to Settings → API.

9.    Copy the API key. Keep this key private—it authenticates the WordPress site with SERP360.

Enter the key in WordPress

10. In WordPress, navigate to Settings → SERP360.

11. Paste the API key into the API Key field.

12. Click Connect.

A success message confirms the connection. The WordPress site now appears in the SERP360 dashboard under connected sites.

How linking works

Once connected, the plugin operates automatically. Here's what happens behind the scenes:

SERP360 analyses content – The platform scans pages and identifies optimal linking opportunities based on relevance, anchor text, and SEO best practices.

Recommendations sync to WordPress – When a link recommendation is approved in SERP360, the instruction is sent to the plugin.

Links are inserted automatically – The plugin finds the exact text and adds the link. No manual editing needed.

Plugin settings

The settings page (Settings → SERP360) offers a few options:

Editor override

The plugin automatically detects which page builder a post uses. In rare cases where detection fails, this setting forces the plugin to use a specific editor adapter. Most sites should leave this set to Auto.

Enable logging

When enabled, the plugin records sync operations to a database table. This helps diagnose issues if links aren't appearing as expected. Logs are automatically cleared after 30 days. For day-to-day use, logging can remain off.

Viewing sync logs

When logging is enabled, recent sync activity appears at the bottom of the settings page. Each entry shows the link ID, action taken (insert, update, or remove), status, and timestamp.

Green status indicators mean success. Red indicates an issue—the message column provides details. Common issues include the anchor text not being found on the page (perhaps it was edited after SERP360 analysed it).

Disconnecting from SERP360

To disconnect the site from SERP360:

16. Go to Settings → SERP360.

17. Click Disconnect.

This removes the connection credentials. Links already added to content remain in place—they won't be deleted. The site can be reconnected at any time by entering the API key again.

Uninstalling the plugin

To completely remove the plugin:

18. Go to Plugins in WordPress.

19. Click Deactivate under SERP360 Link Sync.

20. Click Delete.

Deletion removes all plugin settings and log data. Links added to content are not removed—they remain as standard HTML links. This prevents accidental content changes.

Troubleshooting

Connection fails

Check that the API key was copied correctly—extra spaces can cause issues. Also confirm the site has outbound HTTPS access (some hosting providers restrict external API calls).

Enable logging and check the sync log. Common causes: the anchor text was edited since SERP360 analysed the page, or the content uses a page builder the plugin doesn't recognise. Contact support if the issue persists.

The plugin uses surrounding text (context) to find the exact location for each link. If the same phrase appears multiple times, context matching ensures the correct instance is linked. Editing content after SERP360 analysis can shift context. Re-analysing the page in SERP360 resolves this.

The settings page loads slowly

Large log tables can slow page rendering. Clear old logs using the Clear Logs button, or disable logging entirely for better performance.
