Average Review Rating by Business
The Average Review Rating by Business Chart helps you track and compare customer ratings across your businesses over time. The chart helps you identify trends, compare performance across businesses, and monitor how your reputation evolves across various review platforms.
Key Features
The chart displays review ratings as line graphs over time, with each business represented by a different coloured line. You can also view an "All Businesses" average line that shows the overall performance trend across your portfolio.
The system calculates a 30-day rolling average of ratings to smooth out day-to-day fluctuations and provide a clearer picture of your rating trends.
Accessing the Chart
You can find this chart on your dashboard when you navigate to the review-insights page of your account.
Using the Filters
The chart includes several filter options to help you customize the data view:
- Project Filter: Select a specific project or view data across all projects with the "All Projects" option.
- Source Filter: Filter by review sources (like Trustpilot, Hotelmix, etc.) or select "All Sources" to see combined data.
- Business Filter: Choose a specific business to focus on or select "All Businesses" to compare across your portfolio.
- Date Range Filter: Select the time period you want to analyze (default is 30 days).
Any time you change a filter selection, the chart will automatically update to reflect your choices.
Reading the Chart
The chart shows:
- Dates along the bottom axis (x-axis)
- Ratings from 0 to 5 on the vertical axis (y-axis)
- Different colored lines representing each business
When you hover over any point on a line, you'll see a tooltip showing the exact rating value (to two decimal places) for that business on that specific date.
Understanding the Data
The chart displays a 30-day rolling average rather than daily fluctuations. This means each point represents the average of ratings over the previous 30 days, which helps smooth out temporary spikes or drops for a clearer trend view.
The "All Businesses" line represents the mean (average) of all your business ratings for each day, giving you an overall performance benchmark.
